Getting Started
This guide will help you get started with the Sidechain plugin, from installation to your first recording.
Installation
The Sidechain plugin is available in VST3 and AU (macOS) formats. Install the plugin to your system’s standard plugin directory:
macOS:
- VST3: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ (system-wide) or ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/ (user)
- AU: /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ (system-wide) or ~/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/ (user)
Windows:
- VST3: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\
Linux:
- VST3: /usr/lib/vst3/ or ~/.vst3/
Loading the Plugin
Open your DAW (Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, etc.)
Scan for new plugins (or restart your DAW)
Add Sidechain to a track as an effect plugin
The plugin window will open automatically
First Steps
Create an Account: Click “Sign Up” to create a new account, or “Log In” if you already have one
Complete Your Profile: Add a profile picture and bio to help others discover you
Explore the Feed: Browse posts from other producers in your feed
Record Your First Clip: Click the record button to capture audio from your DAW
Features
Audio Capture: Record audio directly from your DAW
Social Feed: Share and discover music from other producers
Real-time Messaging: Chat with other users
Stories: Share short audio clips that expire after 24 hours
MIDI Capture: Record and share MIDI patterns
Key Detection: Automatically detect the musical key of your recordings
